About FuSaCert | ISO 26262 functional safety learning
FuSaCert is an online learning platform for automotive functional safety. We connect the structure of ISO 26262, explanations, practice and teaching tools to help learners understand the reasoning behind engineering decisions.
This page describes FuSaCert. Our technical material distinguishes paraphrases of the standard, original explanations and teaching examples. Learning material does not replace the formal standard.
Why FuSaCert exists
Learning functional safety involves more than memorising abbreviations. Hazards, risk classification, safety requirements and verification evidence need to form a coherent chain. Isolated definitions often leave the reason for an engineering activity unclear.
FuSaCert provides a connected starting point: learn the safety lifecycle, check your understanding through practice, and organise analysis with teaching tools. The focus is learning and understanding; real product safety arguments remain the responsibility of the project team.
Who it is for
Engineers new to functional safety
Start with the standard structure and terminology, then connect HARA, ASIL, safety goals and safety requirements.
Software and systems engineers
Place existing development experience in the safety lifecycle and examine requirements, design, verification and traceability.
Learners building a knowledge framework
Use learning material, practice questions and teaching examples to identify gaps in understanding.
How learning works
Public pages offer an overview of the standard, a glossary, a learning path and original teaching examples. They can be read without signing in.
The registered learning space combines courses, study guides, practice questions and teaching tools. Tools support practice with HARA, FMEA and FMEDA reasoning. Real engineering conclusions still require project assumptions, applicability and verification evidence.
How we handle standards and examples
Paraphrases identify the version and source. Original explanations connect concepts. Teaching examples state their assumptions so that an illustrative rating is not mistaken for a conclusion about every product.
FuSaCert is a learning platform, not an official ISO body or a certification body. It does not issue functional safety certification or guarantee examination results. Real project decisions require the formal standard and project review.

Common questions
- Do I need automotive development experience first?
- You can start with the public learning path. Systems, software or testing experience helps with examples. Look up unfamiliar terms in the glossary before returning to the relevant stage.
- How do public and registered learning content connect?
- Public content provides a learning map. Courses, practice and teaching tools in the registered space support further study. Read the public guides first to see whether the approach fits your needs.
