TÜV NORD FSCAE exam preparation: an ISO 26262 Level 1 study guide
FSCAE is the Level 1 name in TÜV NORD’s ISO 26262 personnel-certification programme. It is a separate route from TÜV SÜD’s FSCP programme; check the provider you intend to register with for current exam arrangements and requirements.
Credential names, levels and exam arrangements are based on public certification-provider sources. The study suggestions below are original FuSaCert content, not an official syllabus, provider exam questions or a pass guarantee.
Confirm which certification you are preparing for
TÜV NORD expands FSCAE as Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer and lists it as Level 1 in its ISO 26262 personnel-certification programme. Its later levels use the names FSCAC and FSCAM.
TÜV SÜD uses FSCP for its Functional Safety Certification Program and offers its own graded examinations. FSCAE and FSCP are not interchangeable. Confirm the provider, course material and exam information on the official page for the route you plan to take.
Build a review path you can check
The sequence below is general study guidance, not a formal syllabus published by TÜV NORD or another provider. Adjust it to your enrolled course and exam rules, and use the applicable ISO 26262 edition.
Start with the structure and vocabulary
Map each part to the safety lifecycle and distinguish concepts such as fault, error, failure, hazard, safety goal and safety requirement.
Connect concepts through engineering activities
Review how HARA and ASIL, the functional safety concept, system/hardware/software development, supporting processes and safety analyses relate.
Use original practice to find gaps
Explain the reason and assumptions behind each answer. When an answer is wrong, revisit the concept or clause topic instead of memorizing the key.
Check current provider information
Before registering, confirm the applicable edition, prerequisites, exam format, dates and fees with the provider; these details can change by region and over time.
Use self-checks as learning feedback
FuSaCert exercises and mock exams are original platform materials for checking conceptual understanding and reasoning. They are not official or leaked questions, or mock exams provided or endorsed by any certification body, and they do not predict actual exam scores.
FuSaCert is not affiliated with or endorsed by these certification providers. Completing practice does not establish eligibility, certification or project competence.
